K+BroVet Chew Tabs [Potassium Bromide] was developed to provide a reliable source of potassium bromide. Potassium bromide has long been recognized as an excellent anti-convulsive for the alleviation of canine seizure disorders and is often considered the first option for dogs with idiopathic epilepsy. K Bro Vet has also been formulated with B vitamins to support healthy neurological function. K BroVet can be used in conjunction with other therapies, including phenobarbital, or alone, as the sole anti-convulsive. Unlike phenobarbital, bromide is not a hepatotoxin, making it the treatment of choice for dogs with liver damage. Not for use in cats. Levetiracetam can be used for treating seizures in dogs and cats. It can be used solely as an anticonvulsant medication. It can also be used in conjunction with phenobarbital and/or potassium bromide

Levetiracetam is a newer antiepileptic drug that is used in the management of refractory epilepsy in dogs and cats. Levetiracetam is used as an add on drug for dogs and cats whose seizures are not adequately controlled by phenobarbital or the bromides.

Primidone is used to for long-term control of convulsions, seizures, and epilepsy in dogs.

Zonisamide is an antiseizure medication that may be useful as an add-on drug for refractory epilepsy.

Zonisamide can be used together with phenobarbital and/or potassium bromide for treating seizures, incases where your dog's seizures are not adequately controlled while taking phenobarbital or potassium bromide alone or combined.
