Instructions
Before applying wrap, clean hoof, & if possible, remove corks.
General Instructions:
Application: (After using our hoof wrap once, the next ones will take less than a minute to apply.)
Clean hoof well, before wrapping. Remove caulks if possible.
1. Remove wrap from package. (Replace unused wraps in original packaging & store in a dry location.)2. Hold the two non-filled ends of the wrap together. IMPORTANT: Keep ends dry above the "no water" symbol throughout the process.3. Submerge remainder of wrap into warm or cold water, as required, for 15 -20 seconds. (Slightly longer soaking won't adversely affect its use.)4. Drain excess water into pail. Be sure poultice pockets are sufficiently wet. NOTE: Poultice material will even out in pockets, once molded to hoof.5. Pick up foot & place section marked "TOE" at the toe. Lay hoof-shaped section across bottom of foot. Cover bulb of heel and extend dry end onto pastern and hold in place.6. Wrap remaining section across top of hoof. Cover the coronary band, and extend dry end of wrap onto pastern.7. For maximum protection & durability, cover wrap with a re-usable STAYONS Poultice Boot. (Alternatively use cohesive bandage & duct tape.)Note: We highly recommend our STAYONS Poultice Boot for a durable, long-lasting, yet disposable solution for protecting the poultice wrap.
STAYONS Poultice Boot is specifically designed to work with our hoof wraps. One-size-fits-all design.
Removal of wrap & STAYONS Boot
Recheck foot in ~12-24 hours. Our poultice wraps may remain wet longer than you expect. Note: Once wrap is dry, rehydrating with water will not re-activate poultice. If longer time is required, replace with new STAYONS Hoof Wrap & re-use the STAYONS Poultice Boot (rinse with water as needed, dry & re-use).1. Leave foot on ground. undo closure strips to loooosen boot.2. Then pick up foot, and remove both boot & hoof wrap, from back of foot.
Little to no clean-up is required due to the filter paper matrix design & proprietary ratio of ingredients in the wrap.Diispose of used wrap in compost pile, or in regular garbage (or as directed by local regulation), boot itself, in regular garbage.
