Possible Side Effects:

When giving oral Cyclosporin, your pet may experience the following side effects: vomiting, diarrhea, and loss of appetite. Your pet may also experience liver and kidney problems. The eye preparation may result in local irritation and cause redness around the eye and excessive rubbing. Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.

Possible Drug Interactions:

Be sure to tell your veterinarian about any other medications you are giving to your pet. It's not uncommon for your veterinarian to prescribe two different medications, which may cause a drug interaction to occur. If this happens, your veterinarian may change the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Sometimes Cyclosporin is administered with Ketoconazole, which allows for a lower dose of Cyclosporin. The following drugs may interact with Cyclosporin: gentamicin, amphotericin B, ketoconazole, erythromycin, cimetidine, phenobarbital, and phenytoin. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.

Storage:

Keep this medicine out of reach of children. Store this medicine at room temperature in a dry, cool place. Keep this medicine away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medicine in damp places, in the bathroom, or near the kitchen sink. This medication can break down when exposed to moisture or heat Store this medication below 30degC. Do not refrigerate this medicine and protect it from freezing. Discard bottles that have been open for 2 months because, over time, exposure to air destroys the medication. Do not store Cyclosporin in plastic e.g. syringes for long periods of time. 

Instructions

Dosage and Administration:

It is important to follow your Veterinarian's prescription instructions for your pet.

This medication should be given on an empty stomach, 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. If your pet vomits, this medication may be given with food 

Try to give this medication at about the same time each day. 
DO NOT give your pet more medicine than directed. 
DO NOT give your pet medicine more often than directed. 
DO NOT stop giving your pet Cyclosporin unless directed by your veterinarian. Plan ahead to ensure you have the refills you need. Try not to miss giving any doses. 
Wash your hands after handling this medication. 

What if I miss giving a dose? 

If you miss a dose, give it to your pet as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose, then continue with the regular dosing schedule. Do not give your pet two doses at once. 

While it’s not approved by the FDA for cats, it is commonly prescribed by veterinarians to treat cats.
