What is PEA?
PEA (palmitoylethanolamide) is the active ingredient in Redonyl Ultra. It is a naturallyoccurring lipid compound found in both animals and plants. Redonyl Ultra provides
a concentrated source of PEA for dogs in a palatable, easy-to-administer soft chew.
How does PEA help support skin health in the dog?
PEA is produced in the body in response to tissue injury. When a dog’s skin becomes unhealthy, the body produces 30 times more PEA than usual to help maintain skin well-
being. PEA helps to stabilize mast cells; mast cells are a type of white blood cell important in inflammation and allergic reactions. When mast cells are activated by allergens, they histamine and other substances which inflame the skin. In the presence of PEA, cells release less histamine and other inflammatory substances, and skin health is maintained.
