Seizure & Epilepsy

Levetiracetam can be used for treating seizures in dogs and cats. It can be used solely as an anticonvulsant medication. It can also be used in conjunction with phenobarbital and/or potassium bromide

Levetiracetam is a newer antiepileptic drug that is used in the management of refractory epilepsy in dogs and cats. Levetiracetam is used as an add on drug for dogs and cats whose seizures are not adequately controlled by phenobarbital or the bromides.

Zonisamide is an antiseizure medication that may be useful as an add-on drug for refractory epilepsy.

Zonisamide can be used together with phenobarbital and/or potassium bromide for treating seizures, incases where your dog's seizures are not adequately controlled while taking phenobarbital or potassium bromide alone or combined.
