Frequently Asked Questions?
1. My dog stays inside most of the time. Do I still need to vaccinate for leptospirosis?
Leptospirosis can be found in dogs of all sizes, whether they spend time indoors or outdoors. Diagnosis of the disease has increased dramatically during the past 25 years and lepto is found in many urban areas due to contamination of the drinking water by rodents and wildlife.
2. Why should I vaccinate my dog with a vaccine that has 4 types of Lepto?
Emerging lepto diseases, including Lepto. grippotyphosa and Lepto. pomona, are diagnosed in increasing numbers of dogs. The current vaccines that only offer protection against Lepto. canicola and Lepto. icterohaemorrhagiae do not protect against the two emerging lepto strains. Solo-Jec 9 and Solo-Jec 10 offer protection against these four lepto diseases.
3. Will vaccinating my dog with a vaccines that contains lepto cause reactions?
Solo-Jec vaccines containing lepto have been shown to be safe with a low incidence of vaccine-associated adverse events.

Puppies 9 weeks or younger: Vaccinate healthy puppies at 3-4 week intervals until 16 weeks of age for at least 3 doses.
Puppies over 9 weeks and adults: Give a minimum of 2 doses at 3-4 week intervals. Annual revaccination with a single dose is recommended.
Precautions:
Protective immunity may not be completely established in all puppies vaccinated at less than 16 weeks of age because of maternal antibody interference. Only vaccinate healthy animals.
